For Marianela Nuñez, Principle ballerina of the Royal Ballet, dance is more than movement—it is an act of courage, love, and devotion.
“Swan Lake petrifies me every time, but equally, it gives me joy and fulfillment. I pour my soul into it because it challenges me. It’s something I love, even though it scares me.”
Created as part of our Charms for Change initiative, Nela’s chosen charity is the Royal Ballet’s Pointe Shoe Appeal. Every season The Royal Ballet dance through over 6,000 pairs of pointe shoes, the Pointe Shoe Appeal helps towards covering all of the shoes required by the Company, supporting the dancers of The Royal Ballet throughout the Season.
