Inside Matilda Lowther's white Amate locket, three charms speak volumes: a family legacy of strength captured in a swan, sibling unity in a four-leaf clover, and the joy of her 30th birthday marked by her ruby birthstone.

Matilda is an art historian and creative whose path has taken her from fashion to research, and now toward nurturing emerging artists. Storytelling runs through everything she does, and her locket is no exception – it is a place where memories live, carried close to her heart.

Shot in Holland Park by her friend and videographer Nicole Della Costa, the film captures Matilda reflecting on these talismans of love and memory:

“The first charm is the swan, which really reminds me of my mum, and also my mum’s mum, both of whom are very elegant, strong women. I chose this beautiful, bright green four-leaf clover because it reminds me of my three siblings, one of whom I lost three years ago, my brother. For me, these four leaves are symbolic of us still being together. The last charm I chose was the July birthstone… it reminds me of the evening I celebrated my 30th birthday, where I wore a dress the same colour, surrounded by friends who had carried me through my twenties.”
